Wheat Watchers

Preparedness and Planning Group

  • Get it Together

Wheat Watchers meets monthly on the 3rd Wednesday at 7:00 pm at Kathy's house.

We've talked the talk, now it's time to walk the walk. I'm letting the blog, newsletter and e-mail do most of the talking and leaving the meetings open for much more DOING!

December Wheat Watchers Class

Posted by imawheatwatcher on January 4, 2012

Yes, I am fully aware that it is January. However, I had somehow forgotten to post December’s meeting in December and I didn’t want you to miss out. I am nice like that. 😉

Many of us would love to own a sun over. However, it may not be in our budgets this year. This post from Safely Gathered In is fantastic on teaching you how to make your own. It is low cost and works pretty well. What I love about it is that it uses charcoal. That way if it isn’t a particularly warm day you won’t have to wait all day for your bread, or whatever you are baking, to bake.

Now, if you are one of the few lucky ones that are able to purchase a sun oven this year here is a link to a site of sun ovens that come highly recommended.

They also have a great deal for group buy. If anyone is interested, I can get the code to get it. I think there’s a discount and some dehydrator equipment included (use your Sun Oven as a dehydrator!) Let me know if anyone asks you about them.
