Food Storage Recipe Monday

Posted by imawheatwatcher on May 16, 2011

I thought that it would be a great use of this blog to post food storage friendly recipes every Monday. I have gotten several comments that people would LOVE more recipes. If you have a recipe that you love and would like to share, please email it to me!

Slow Cooker Salsa Swiss Steak

1 boneless beef round steak (3 lbs) cut into 12 serving pieces (you can use 1 1/2 stew meat and cut the pieces in half)
1 jar (16 oz) chunky salsa
1 envelope (4 TBS) brown gravy mix

In greased 3-4 QT slow cooker, place beef pieces. In small bowl mix salsa and gravy mix; pour over beef. Cover and cook for 8-10 hours on low. During the last 15-30 minutes cook pasta (egg noodles, whole grain pasta, regular spaghetti) or mashed potatoes. Serve swiss steak over the starch. Enjoy!

Recipe from Betty Crocker.
