    Wheat Watchers meets monthly on the 3rd Wednesday at 7:00 pm at Kathy's house.

    We've talked the talk, now it's time to walk the walk. I'm letting the blog, newsletter and e-mail do most of the talking and leaving the meetings open for much more DOING!

Food Storage Recipe Monday

I thought that it would be a great use of this blog to post food storage friendly recipes every Monday. I have gotten several comments that people would LOVE more recipes. If you have a recipe that you love and would like to share, please email it to me!

Roast Beef with Mashed Potatoes

* This is made with 100% shelf stable items

1 can roast beef chunks
1/2 can of peas
1/2 can of carrots
2 TBS dehydrated onions.
1 1/3 C potato flakes
1 1/3 Cup boiling water
salt and pepper
1/2 water + 3 TBS powdered milk (this is for the mashed potatoes)

Saute the first 4 ingredients together until warmed through. Add the boiling water and milk to the potato flakes. Stir gently with a fork. Let it stand for 1 minute then fluff with a fork. Salt and pepper to taste. Put the mashed potatoes on the plate then pour the roast on top. Enjoy! Serves 4.
