Food Storage Recipe Monday

Posted by imawheatwatcher on February 21, 2011

I thought that it would be a great use of this blog to post food storage friendly recipes every Monday. I have gotten several comments that people would LOVE more recipes. If you have a recipe that you love and would like to share, please email it to me!

This recipe was submitted to me by Laurel M. Thanks Laurel!

Cereal Treats

3 tbsp butter or margarine ( I am still trying to figure out the butter powder thing)
1 10 oz pkg marshmallows (or substitute a 7 oz jar of creme)
6 C Rice Crispies (or other crunchy breakfast cereal)

In large saucepan melt butter over low heat . Add marshmallows (or creme) and stir until
completely melted. Remove from heat.

Add cereal and stir until well coated. Press evenly into a 13 x 9 x 2
coated with cooking spray. Cool and cut into squares. Best if served
the same day.

MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS:
In microwave-safe bowl heat butter and marshmallows on HIGH for 3
minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. Follow steps 2
and 3 above. Microwave cooking times may vary.
