  • Get it Together

Wheat Watchers meets monthly on the 3rd Wednesday at 7:00 pm at Kathy's house.

We've talked the talk, now it's time to walk the walk. I'm letting the blog, newsletter and e-mail do most of the talking and leaving the meetings open for much more DOING!

Item of the Week

Posted by imawheatwatcher on February 3, 2011

Every Thursday I will post an “Item of the Week” to assemble our Preparedness kits. Don’t worry if you have just started and we are half way through the list. This will continue on a loop so we will eventually get back to the beginning. Start when you can, do what you can, and we will become prepared.

Right now we are gathering items for: Youth and Adult Emergency Backpack (72 hr. kits)

This week get 1 backpack, tote bag, duffle bag, or a small suitcase on wheels for each person in your family. For example, in my family I have to plan that there is a chance my husband won’t be with us (he is in the Army National Guard) so my backpack is the biggest. Then my 3 little girls have small backpacks that are light enough they can carry them all by themselves. I also have a rolling suitcase to carry more stuff.

Many people have asked what to put in a Baby Diaper Bag Kit. Here is the list:

*refill diaper bag with baby needs every night
~diapers (5)
~wet wipes
~favorite toy/blanket
~infant tylenol/motrin
~snacks (if eating solids)
~change of clothes
~diaper rash cream
*emergency items
~mylar blanket
~rain poncho
~mini flashlight
~blow whistle
~emergency water pouches
~2 pouches in separate ziploc bag
*keep extra pacifier (binky( in bag
*if baby is still on formula, keep extra in diaper bag along with water pouches
*The diaper bag is to be taken with the 72 hr. kit you have for the baby in your own kit.
