Wheat Watchers meets monthly on the 3rd Wednesday at 7:00 pm at Kathy's house.

We've talked the talk, now it's time to walk the walk. I'm letting the blog, newsletter and e-mail do most of the talking and leaving the meetings open for much more DOING!

January Wheat Watcher Notes

Posted by imawheatwatcher on January 26, 2011

What a great class this one was. A big thanks to Lyndi T. and Lisa R. for doing such an AMAZING job!

If you missed the class here are some notes that I took from the meeting. *Remember I am human and my notes may not be all accurate. I did my best, but if you have any questions or would like to use some of these I would do research on the internet or ask Lyndi and Lisa for more info. Thanks!

Lyndi T.

Natural Remedies
*this does not replace common sense. If you are bleeding or any other serious condition please go to the appropriate person.

Headaches:
~check how much water you have had to drink that day
~altoids- strong peppermint helps blood flow

Papaya enzyme is good for
~stomach aches
~heartburn
~ recommended to take 3 after a meal

Mullein Tea is natural painkiller. Works well on toothaches.

If your baby has an upset stomach, put 1 starlight mint in warm water for the baby to drink.

Gargle with salt water when throat starts to get scratchy.

Cammomile for teething or grouchyness
~Don’t touch tablets with your hands, pour into the cap.

Iron deficiency
~Cholorophyll (refrigerated)
~molasses
I would dilute with water to help with taste.

Natural antibiotics
~grapefruit seed extract
~echinacea
~raw garlic (do not cook or it defeats the purpose)

Calendula helps with burns, cuts, open sores, cracked hands, and diaper rash.

Shark’s oil (ask Cheryl S. for exact name) for sunburns.

Arnica gel- for bumps and bruises you can see
Arnica montana- for bumps you can’t see; it also relieves muscle soreness

Rescue Remedy- natural de-stresser

Lyndi did a test of two prenatal vitamins. One was a whole food one and the other was a prescribed one. She put them each in their own cup of water to see which one dissolved first. By the end of the meeting the whole food one was broken down and the other one was still just sitting there.

MSM- flexibility

CALM- helps give you more calcium

Hylands brands of homeopathics say on the bottle what it is good for.

Lyndi also said that don’t underestimate the use of Priesthood blessings. You can do everything you can think of to help those that are sick and in need but sometimes you need that added protection that only Priesthood blessings can bring.

Lisa R.

Using Essential Oils to treat common family illnesses. If you want her print out click on this link.

Benefits of using Essential Oils
~no side effects
~long shelf life (on most of them)
~no dosage limtations
~50-70X’s more potent than herbs

If you want to dilute your oils use veggie oil.

keep out of eyes, ears, and nose

1 drop peppermint oil = 20 cups of peppermint tea

If you don’t like the taste of the oils then you can put them in empty gel caps (found at the heath food store) and take them that way.

If you don’t want to buy a whole bunch of oils here are some suggested ones to have on hand for Emergency use. These are good on multiple things.
~Clove
~painkiller
~antibacterial
~antifungal
~fankincense
~healing

~lemon
~boast immune system
~peppermint
~cooling
