Food Storage Recipe Monday

Posted by imawheatwatcher on August 23, 2010

I thought that it would be a great use of this blog to post food storage friendly recipes every Monday. I have gotten several comments that people would LOVE more recipes. If you have a recipe that you love and would like to share, please email it to me!

Green Bean Casserole

* Sorry there is no picture. My potatoes didn’t set up as well as they have in the past and it didn’t look pretty. But I promise it tasted good. đŸ˜‰

1 med. onion, chopped (1/4 c. dried minced onion)
1 lb. ground beef
salt and pepper
1 can French cut green beans, drained
1 can tomato soup
5 med. potatoes, cooked ( or 1 1/3 cup potato flakes cooked)
1/2 cup warm milk (if using potato flakes or pearls follow directions and omit this)
1 beaten egg

Cook meat, onion and other seasonings; brown. Add beans and soup; pour into a greased 1 1/2 qt. dish. Mash potatoes; add milk, egg and salt and pepper. (If using potato flakes or peals don’t add milk) Spoon over meat. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serves 6.

This actually sounds like a wonderful recipe. I tried a green bean casserole recipe a long time ago and it was nasty. But this one sounds great…so maybe I’ll be brave.
