Wheat Watchers meets monthly on the 3rd Wednesday at 7:00 pm at Kathy's house.

We've talked the talk, now it's time to walk the walk. I'm letting the blog, newsletter and e-mail do most of the talking and leaving the meetings open for much more DOING!

Food Storage Recipe Monday

Posted by imawheatwatcher on July 26, 2010

I thought that it would be a great use of this blog to post food storage friendly recipes every Monday. I have gotten several comments that people would LOVE more recipes. If you have a recipe that you love and would like to share, please email it to me!

Homemade Icing

1 tsp. vanilla
2 TBS butter, softened
1-3 TBS milk
3 cups powdered sugar

Put all the ingredients, but the milk, in a bowl. Slowly start beating with a hand mixer. Once it starts getting combined add a TBS of milk. Continue to add a TBS of milk until it is the consistency that you want.

Recipe from my mom

*If you have ever been to a birthday party at my house this is the icing on the cupcakes. I don’t buy store icing. I love this stuff! We use the leftover, if there is any, to make graham cracker sandwiches.

yUUUm! đŸ™‚ I don’t always like icing so it’s nice to have a few good recipes. Oh, and I love graham cracker sandwiches!

I just WISH I didn’t love icing…anything but the nasty shorting buttercream that my dad used to use. Blaugh! Yours sounds like a good one.

    Thanks!
