Promised Picture

Posted by imawheatwatcher on June 16, 2010

Here is the picture of the Squash bread I promised you. It was DELICIOUS! Very healthy and easy to make.

Reminder: I still have the canner until the 18th. To be honest I have it also on the 19th but it is my 2nd daughter’s 3rd birthday and my 1st daughter’s very 1st Ballet recital, so times are not good. If you can only do it that day, please call me and I will work something out for you.

Important Info. Tuesday

Posted by imawheatwatcher on June 15, 2010

Every Tuesday I will post a document that needs to be copied and put in your 72 hr. kits. Breaking it down week by week will, hopefully, make it easier to get it DONE!

This week gather all the Deeds you have and make copies of them.

Remember to put all the copies we make into the container you chose to store them in. 😉

Food Storage Recipe Monday

Posted by imawheatwatcher on June 14, 2010

I thought that it would be a great use of this blog to post food storage friendly recipes every Monday. I have gotten several comments that people would LOVE more recipes. If you have a recipe that you love and would like to share, please email it to me!

Cheesy Chicken and Rice Casserole

This is great for leftovers.

1 can cream of chicken soup
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 cup cooked rice
1/4 tsp pepper
2 cups frozen veggies (any mixture, I used peas and corn)
1 can chicken (or leftover cooked chicken)
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Combine all ingredients, except cheese in a bowl. Once combined put in a greased 9X13 pan. Top with cheese and bake at 375 for 15 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Happy Eating!

Goals

Posted by imawheatwatcher on June 13, 2010

“I urge you to examine your life. Determine where you are and what you need to do to be the kind of person you want to be. Create inspiring, noble, and righteous goals that fire your imagination and create excitement in your heart. And then keep your eye on them. Work consistently towards achieving them.”

Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin

Use this quote to inspire you to make goals on your food storage besides your personal life. We need to realize that food storage won’t be done unless we make a goal and work hard at achieving it. Then once you have all your food you will have to maintain it, use it, inventory it. It is an achievable goal we just need to be steadfast and faithful!

Right now we are gathering items for: Office Kits

This office kit is a small one designed to go in a desk drawer.

The Times In Which We Live

Posted by imawheatwatcher on June 6, 2010

“As we have been continuously counseled for more than 60 years, let us have some food set aside that would sustain us for a time in case of need. But let us not panic nor go to extremes. Let us be prudent in every respect. And, above all, my brothers and sisters, let us move forward with faith in the Living God and His Beloved Son.”
