Food Storage Recipe Monday

I thought that it would be a great use of this blog to post food storage friendly recipes every Monday. I have gotten several comments that people would LOVE more recipes. If you have a recipe that you love and would like to share, please email it to me!

Homemade Pizza


1 cup warm water
1 TBS yeast
1/2 TBS sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 TBS oil
2 1/2 – 3 cups flour ( I used whole wheat)

Preheat Oven to 450 degrees.

Combine water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes or until frothy. Add salt and oil; stir in 1 cup of flour, stir in 2nd cup of flour. Keep adding flour and stirring after each cup until reached desired consistency. It shouldn’t be a little tacky to the touch. Knead for a minute. Put in a bowl covered with a damp cloth and let rise until double (about 45 minutes). Punch down; divide into two circular pizza’s or one big rectangular one.


1 (8oz) can of tomato sauce
2 -3 tsp of Italian seasoning
Mozzarella cheese, grated

Mix sauce together. Put on dough and add cheese. Top with your favorite toppings.

1 cup tomato sauce
1 cup BBQ sauce
Mozzarella cheese, grated
2 cups chicken, cooked and shredded

Mix tomato sauce and BBQ sauce together. Put on dough and add cheese. Top with chicken. If you like you can also add red onions, jalepenos, or olives. Anything you like on a BBQ chicken pizza.

Bake for 20-30 minutes.
