Keep Your Eyes and Ears Open

Posted by imawheatwatcher on April 26, 2009

As I’ve briefly talked with various people about pandemic flu, many comments have centered around what will or won’t happen in the event of pandemic illness.   Some think schools and stores would not be closed, others that church or other public events would not be canceled.  If we give close attention to the events following the current outbreak of swine flu, we can learn a little about what to expect governments and other public entities to do during an epidemic or pandemic outbreak.

Totally Ready is a blog written by Carolyn Nicolaysen who is also a frequent writer for Meridian Magazine.  She is very informative in many areas of personal preparedness but especially seems to focus her blog on being prepared for a pandemic.  She has been closely tracking the events surrounding the swine flu this week and I would encourage you to review her articles.  Keep your eyes and ears open and listen to what you can do to prepare you and your family.  Again, this is not a time to panic, it is a time to get educated, prepared and ready to act when called to do so.
